Through outdoor adventure, leadership, and service, Scouts in Troop 255 develop the skills and values that last a lifetime.
A different adventure every month — climbing gyms, river floats, shooting sports, caving, photography, wilderness survival, and more.
Scouts plan and lead their own troop. The Patrol Leaders Council puts scouts in charge — adults guide, they decide.
From First Aid to Photography to Shooting Sports — scouts earn skills-based badges that build toward the Eagle Scout rank.
10 days at H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation every June. Scouts come back transformed — more independent, confident, and ready to lead.

Founded in 1999 and chartered by VFW Post 6603, Troop 255 has a long history of growing young scouts into successful Eagle Scouts. Our troop is youth-led — scouts plan meetings and activities with adult guidance, building real leadership from day one.
We meet every Monday at 7 PM at Woods Chapel United Methodist Church and camp on the third Saturday of most months. Scouts participate in regular camping trips, hiking excursions, and community service projects.
Special programs include the Tribe of Mic-o-Say and Order of the Arrow — Scouting's National Honor Society — along with high adventure opportunities at Philmont, Sea Base, and the Summit Bechtel Reserve.
Any young man in 5th grade or older (age 11+) is welcome. Here's how to get started with Troop 255.
